In Brazil, they even have to have signs in the apartment blocks which say that "everyone is entitled to use the same lift", because in the past the (mostly darker-skinned) maids and cleaners were expected to go up a separate lift from everyone else. Further, our Portuguese forum member Sebastianus Rex has said he has never been to any country with such severe racial segregation as Brazil.

Unlike in some other countries, the phenotype variation in Colombia is as much if not more regional than social. Even Chaska agrees with me.

Here is a private school in Bogota. They only look marginally whiter than what you find further down the social spectrum: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/sh...in-Bogota-2023

Sometimes, they change the method used and it gives different numbers.

Usually, since the 2000's, Brazil's average HDI is about 0.740 to 0.780 in most studies, with the most developed states in the 0.800 ranging.

About Paraguay, it is not that bad as some people think. A lot of businessmen here from Brazil are moving there because of their economic policy.
