Cost of living in Warsaw, Poland

The cost of living for an Erasmus in Warsaw is much lower than it would be in cities like Paris, London or in most European destinations. This gives you more possibilities to travel, go out without spending so much money or simply be a little less overwhelmed. Now, it is better not to get overconfident and control the expenses we have on a weekly basis. Keep in mind that the main expense will be the rental of the accommodation. From our search engine, we help you find the cheapest accommodations.
Many international students who study for a year in Warsaw use this time to travel to different countries. From this city transportation is quite cheap and, in addition, you will find many offers aimed at students . Above all, think that it is a year to enjoy, meet people, discover new places and live unforgettable experiences.
Erasmus parties and leisure in Warsaw, Poland

Warsaw is one of the cities with the most students in all of Poland. Partying in a city like this can be quite cheap , a great advantage if you are there on Erasmus. This city is full of students , how could there not be a party? You can go out whenever you want and whatever the weather. Winter is usually very cold and, sometimes, people don't feel like leaving home... don't worry, you will always find parties in student apartments that are close to you. But if you go out to a bar or a nightclub you will notice the heating at maximum, so forget about being cold.
One piece of advice given by Erasmus students from previous years is to look for a student group or association. They are always thinking about plans, visits or events so that Erasmus students can get to know and enjoy the city and its culture to the fullest.
Culture and gastronomy in Warsaw, Poland

If the city of Warsaw has something in abundance, it is culture and history . Next, we are going to name some of the mandatory stopping places when going to this city. On the one hand there is the Warsaw Uprising Museum , which shows how in 1944 Warsaw rebelled against the Nazis. The Palace of Culture and Science or the Royal Castle are also emblematic and iconic places of this city. In addition, you will also find a wide variety of museums, galleries, tours of Warsaw, etc. You have a lot to see in the city, that's for sure.
Something that you will also get to know perfectly is Polish gastronomy. In general, the typical dishes are filling and not too expensive. Some of its most popular dishes are: pierogi, bigos, zurek or, one of its most famous desserts, apple pie. You will surely get to discover this wonderful cuisine to the fullest.
Advantages of doing Erasmus in Warsaw, Poland

The destination you choose for your Erasmus will have a crucial role in this experience. If you are wondering what Warsaw can give you, here are some of the advantages this city offers:

    • Warsaw is located in the center of Europe, therefore, if you plan to take trips during your Erasmus, this location is perfect.

    • The cost of living in this city, as a student, is very economical, which gives you the option of enjoying your Erasmus without financial burdens.
    • The city's gastronomy is exquisite and its people are very welcoming.
    • You will find students from all over the world who will become your family and friends for life.

    (2019)

Poland has become the fashionable destination for all European Erasmus students. Especially from the Spanish . And the students of the University of Malaga who achieve one of these scholarships are no exception. Thousands of university students travel to the Baltic country every year. Of them, 172 are from Malaga (data corresponding to the last academic year). The currency exchange , the lower standard of living , the good weather conditions , its geographical location and the university atmosphere that is breathed in cities like Warsaw , Krakow or Poznan are the keys that students take into account the most when choosing the Polish course.
In recent years, more and more university students in the province are deciding to pack their bags and live the Erasmus experience. The progression is ascending , according to the data provided by the University itself. If in the 2014/2015 academic year the UMA sent 971 students to study abroad, last year this figure increased to 1,034 university students . This includes international mobility data to Ibero-American, North American or Asian countries (they are not Erasmus).
The figures reflect a clear preference for Poland in Europe. Italy too, with 101 students from Malaga. Among the preferred destinations are the United Kingdom (77), Germany (73), Belgium (59) and the Czech Republic (58). Those who travel to the rest of the world do so preferably to South Korea (21 students), Mexico (18) and the United States (18), according to data corresponding to the 2017/2018 academic year. After 32 years of existence, the Erasmus program is the first option for university students to study in Europe. And it demonstrates the benefits of student mobility and university exchange . It was in June 1987 when an agreement was reached between the members of the European Union, with the aim of facilitating university mobility and recognizing studies carried out in other European universities. By 2020, five million students will have been part of the Erasmus programme . One million of these students will be Spaniards who have had the experience of studying abroad. All in all, the University of Malaga receives more scholarship holders than it sends abroad each year, in clear upward progression for the last three years, too. The majority of these international students come from Italy . This past year, a total of 291 transalpine students chose the Malaga academic institute to enjoy their Erasmus scholarship. Poland is not only a recipient country for Erasmus from Malaga , but it is also an issuer. In this way, the UMA welcomed 113 Polish students last year.

Defeated fears that the crisis and cuts would jeopardize these scholarships (in 2012 the European Commission even warned that it was running out of funds to finance the Erasmus program due to budget cuts imposed by the Member States and the European Parliament) , which filled the students with uncertainty and nerves, especially those who had already left, last year the UMA obtained more than 2.6 million euros for its financing , standing out as the sixth in Spain that received the most funds for make stays in destinations outside the country. Of these, 1.9 million were for mobility within Europe and 704,295 euros for mobility to non-European countries.
The Erasmus program is mainly aimed at university students with an intermediate or higher degree or who have completed their first year of training. Thanks to these scholarships, financed by the European Union, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and the Government of Andalusia, students study for a period of between three months and one year in another European country, being recognized at their university. of origin once they return.
The amount of the scholarship depends on the country of destination (they are grouped into five different groups, depending on the standard of living) and the length of the stay. Also what each autonomous community contributes. And the socioeconomic level of the aid applicant. All Erasmus students receive EU support of approximately 110 euros per month . At the national level, the Ministry of Education grants other aid to those who have benefited from a general scholarship the previous year. To this is added the contribution of the autonomous community.
In total, an Erasmus student can earn between 200 and 800 euros per month , depending on their family financial situation and the community in which they reside.

Well, I don't know, but Eramus-type programs are very common to go to Poland, not as much as Italy, France or the UK but also common + also Greece and Finland are also quite common, at least in my area

I've just returned from a trip in Andalusia and saw maybe 5 people like her and many others partially influenced. It's a pre-Neolithic trait more common in refuge NW European areas, basically a red-headed baltoid. It's totally expected for some Iberians to look like that

Pure WHG were not known to carry any MC1R variants associated with rufosity, they were rather uniformly brunet. The SHG Swedish Motala specimens carried R151C and R160W (and also rs1110400) but they had EHG and thus ANE admixture. It is not an Pre-Neoltithic trait in the WHG-zone of Western Europe.

Looks Spanish as well as in doesn't look like Irish redheads. Attractive looking girl.

I've posted this girl before as she is half Irish and half Spanish. I think you can see both her ancestries in her.

What's the girl's name? I find everything very strange, the text of the first photo. I don't recognize the textile, the girl is a doll, that shirt with those buttons, that collar, those pants, it's a rather old-fashioned outfit that a Spaniard would not wear and in Cantabria they dress quite well. Basically, without a source of the image and the results and the name of the girl, I doubt that she is Spanish.

    It is a rare publication.

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.
