Absoutely loved the 80's, cocaine was widely available (gracias Escobar), women had vaginas, MTV was a music channel, the Pope was catholic and Russia was evil. Everything is so complicated nowadays.

We were heavily into 1980's nostalgia in the 2000's, but I'm kind of burned it with it now.

Same. Back in the Vice City playing days. But I'm over the cliched 80s things and especially faux modern homages, I still enjoy some things I've not seen/heard before or much. You can't have proper nostalgia anyway if you don't remember a time, and childhood nostalgia is biased to be overly positive.

That kid kicked a knife that almost hit me, which was why your story brought it to mind. I'll just tell you the gruesome details since this isn't a kindergarten forum. Their dog got pregnant, so they blamed a random dog for it, and they brought him into their backyard and closed and locked the gate. The devil boy beat the dog with a baseball bat, and it bled all over the place. I was about to jump the fence. The second devil boy stood guard against me with this huge pot of boiling oil or water. His older brother told him to splash that on me if I got on the fence! He was ready, so I was stuck there, and they eventually released the bleeding dog, and I should have called the police, but we were all in grade school!

i was 13 walking home from a guitar lesson in the early evening there was four 16 year old kids in front of me walking slowly so i walked around them.
One of them mouthed something like "little shit" as i passed them then under my breath i said "fuck you".
Next thing 2 of them ran up to me and said "what's you say little shit" then the taller one delivered several punches to my face.
He split my lip and nose open and there was blood all over my face.

When i got home again my mum screamed when she saw me and my Dad got home 20 minutes later when i told him what happened,he grabbed a baseball bat and
took me in his Van we proceeded to drive around trying find those four 16 yo punks so Dad could baseball bat the fick outta them.

They were nowhere to be found so we went with option B which was the Police station.
The Cop pulled out a book with photos of local criminals and delinquents , from my description they were able to identify the kid that
hit me, he had a record. The cops said they would follow it up, but we never heard back from them.
The cop recommend to me a local boxing club and that is how i started doing amateur boxing which i did at that club for next 6 years.

I never did come across that bastard older kid to take my revenge though.
Im petty though if i crossed his path today i would pay back those punches.

They sound like cowards since they were bigger and older, and there were four of them. They remind me of the "teens" here. Maybe you'll find them one day. If you're all in your eighties when you do, give them a good thrashing with your cane.

This would be considered too racist in 2024. You could say this sort of stuff in the 80s on TV and it wasn't an issue.

That's an insightful post. However, I'd say you lack a spiritual connection to the 80s.
