Default Comparing Brother's and Myself's 23&Me and Ancestry

I've just got my brother's new 23&Me result and also recently had his Ancestry done. What is indeed interesting is that on 23&Me I just get the northern areas of Ireland and no Munster but sure enough he has the more southern areas which I don't have. Also with Ancestry I get no GCs from my father as they are all from my mother's side and he gets GCs from both my mother but also some from my father. So it is definitely worth getting siblings tested.

What is also interesting on 23&Me is he also gets Wales. I do get 1% Wales on Ancestry and he gets none. So now I'm wondering if there was some Welsh in my family tree in the past?

Here is my brother's 23&Me results.

    Here is my 23&Me

So now having both myself and my brother's done I have to say they are very accurate.

If someone wants to add their results or having any comment on the accuracy of their results please feel free to add to this thread and discuss if you wish.

    What are the haplos?

Congrats on the increased perspective on the family genetics. Interesting the possible bit of Welsh.

Just adding our Ancestry results. I get all Munster on Ancestry and no Roscommon but having my brother tested he does get a Roscommon GC which is from my father's side.

This is my brother's Ancestry result

    This is my result

So it is worth getting other family members tested if you can.

Thanks for asking Corded. I completely forgot about checking his haplos.

I already knew he was R1b-M222 and have done the Big Y at FTDNA.

Your brother is somewhat similar to my mom's results.

I'm glad he got the Munster GC. That really bugged me that I didn't. You're mother's result is very Irish indeed.

IIrc my old ancestry showed Scottish but didn't show any Irish. However, 23 showed a little over 25% Irish and very little Scottish.

Of course G25 models give me about 30% Irish/Scottish mix.
