Metro stations. It's a nightmare, like a dystopian post apocaliptic movie. They sleep there, some lie there like dead, some are beaten by Police, some shake and puke around, and apparently even foreign hobos migrate there

Yeah, I noticed some of that. I used the Metro a few times to cross the river because the large bridge was unpleasant,
but eventually I discovered the smaller bridge, the chain bridge, which was nicer.

So probably if I used the Metro often, I would notice them more often.

I also noticed them in the underground passages to cross the street, so this is not the ideal way to cross the street I guess.
And in the underground shopping area.

Many of them are mentally ill because some former liberal major of city closed down the madhouses

They have universal health care, but it doesn't work anymore. Lot of quality medical personel migrated to Germany and such places, lack of money. Croatia isn't any better.

Thank God I have enough income to afford private hospital and my uncle who is semi-retired now works in one of them so I get 50% cheaper service.

That is what happens to public healthcare eventually.

State salaries cannot compete with private salaries or any better salaries elsewhere.

And the country has more old and unhealthy people than young people, so there will be long-term budget difficulties.

So the quality inevitably degrades. Public healthcare is a necessity, hopefully you do not expect much of it though.

If you’re 31, you’re part of the same generation as me (I’m 32), and we both grew up with predominantly Western media. Yet, I consider my Czech heritage to be strictly Eastern. If you're one those 'muh Central Europe' guys, don't bother replying.
