India was not divided in small areas....
English soldiers faced Mughal Empiree and Maratha empire that were still huge with 5 times the people of all England..
For almost the entirety of the early modern period (from the 16th to 18th century, roughly), Indian armies were in the most part not poorly armed or inferior in terms of technology when compared to the Europeans.
What separated the Enghish soldiers from Indian ones is almost exclusively discipline..

I don't know anything about this subject but I want to say it's not nice to call people stupid. It's hurtful.
I'm new to this subject. Never thought about it before. Why did some Indians fight for the British against their own people?
I'll leave this thread and look at the rest of the forum. I don't want to argue with anyone.
Spoiler!

Indians didn't have a national consciousness. It would be like a Greek looking at a German and saying, "Oh, we are fellow Europeans. I don't want to fight my fellow Europeans." They fought for the British because the British paid them well enough.
The only reason India exists today as a country is because English is the Lengua Franca. Otherwise, it would have split up into different countries. India is made up of many ethnic groups.

You are always wrong American donkey (without offending the donkeys who have no fault) .
I discussed on the HISTORYFORUM some years ago how the British took over India militarily in 18-19th centuries..
Donkey.. Settle for MARVEL comics as a source for your limited cognitive abilities..
