Default How Close Are Modern Greeks to Ancient Greeks?

I'm opening this thread in the Automasal DNA section, but I also wouldn't mind to see a comparison of the Y-DNA of modern Greeks to that of ancient Greeks.

A G25 demonstration would be also nice.

I'm going to guess about the same. The regional populations have been traversing in antiquity and contemporary times.

Mainland Greeks received some Slavic admixture during medieval period.

I haven't seen any actual samples from the Classical Period of Ancient Greece
In the context of the art, architecture, and culture of Ancient Greece, the Classical period corresponds to most of the 5th and 4th centuries BC (the most common dates being the fall of the last Athenian tyrant in 510 BC to the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC). The Classical period in this sense follows the Greek Dark Ages and Archaic period and is in turn succeeded by the Hellenistic period.
Until we get hold of them, it's impossible to give a definite answer. But I would say there were both Southern and Northern waves of geneflow into Greece thereafter.

Interestingly, Italians from Calabria and Campania are among the the populations who are most close to Roman Anatolians.
