If Iran attacks Israel the US will go to war with Iran. This something Israel has wanted the US to do for a long time and Netanyahu also knows this is the only way he can win his conflict (and ethnically cleanse Gaza and the West Bank) because right now his war in Gaza while having destroyed the infrastructure and killed thousands of innocent civilians is a bust.
