The U.S. will stand with their allies, especially Israel. Nonetheless, as I've said my interpretation is that it is not in the interest of Biden's admnistration to escalate the conflict. I think that America's role at this moment will be to try to convince Israel to retaliate in the long term when the situation is possibly milder and not in the short term. Israel will retaliate, that's certain, but hopefully it will do so in a few months when the situation in Gaza is resolved and not "tomorrow".

The biggest asset they can give Israel (and Russia for that matter) is the election of Trump. It's basically a carte blanche to level Gaza, Iran and Ukraine. Dangerous times we live in.

Gaza is already being leveled. Israel doesn't care who is in office. Trump has shown restraint when the neo-Cons tried to push him into war with Iran and instead of escalating the war in Syria he ordered most of the troops home (the military ignored him, which is treason, but that wasn't known until after Trump was out of office). Trump is also wary of Bibi. Bibi fucked him during the elections by not taking his side and embracing Biden. Trump is motivated by ego and pettiness.
No new conflicts began under Trump's presidency. That hasn't happened since I think Carter.

Gaza is being leveled but with the disapproval of much of the international community at this point, that includes as well a percentage of the Biden's administration. With Trump in power there will be no longer the need to please the more left-leaning Democrats. I don't think that Israel does not care who is in office at the White House, from my perspective having Trump in power would be more benefitial to current Israeli's interests. Trump may be wary of Netanyahu but realistically his days are over, he is being contested heavily in Israel. Iran's retaliation was odd in this aspect because they have given another oxygen pump to Netanyahu's policy with this attack, but honestly I think at this point it won't be enough to unite the Israelis once again under his guidance. No new conflicts under Trump's presidency it is not an indication that he will know how to deal with or resolve the conflicts that are currently taking place.

And Israel doesn't care. They do as they like. Israeli officials outright talked about starving people as a tactic. They don't give a fuck because they know nothing will be done.
The positive of having most of the international community turn on Israel is that Israelis will suffer social costs but let's not expect the international community to actually do anything. Netanyahu or anyone else will not be on trial at The Hague for war crimes.
The Republican base doesn't want WW3. Despite the mentally ill Evangelical Christians, the rest of the Republican voters do not want any more wars. With Trump in power there will be no longer the need to please the more left-leaning Democrats.
Why would it be more beneficial?I don't think that Israel does not care who is in office at the White House, from my perspective having Trump in power would be more benefitial to current Israeli's interests.
It's why Netanyahu is trying to broaden the war by baiting Iran. That and because he has failed to meet his objectives in Gaza. While Gaza's infrastructure is basically destroyed and there are thousands of dead and starving civilians Hamas hasn't been defeated and still holds hostages. Only two hostages have been liberated by military action (and quite a few killed - including three gunned down - by the Israeli military). Hamas has gotten a lot out of every hostage they have traded.Trump may be wary of Netanyahu but realistically his days are over, he is being contested heavily in Israel.
However, regardless of who is in power, all this will continue until Israel gets tired. The goal has always been to ethnically cleanse Gaza and the West Bank, and Israelis are suffering from bloodlust over 10/7. They, of course, will fail because the Palestinians won't leave or die easily. Eventually, Israel will throw up its hands out of exhaustion (they can't have so many working males and women out of work and in uniforms; their economy will suffer more than it already has).
I wouldn't have done anything (except hijack that ship) but I'm sure there are different factions and some felt something must be done to save face.Iran's retaliation was odd in this aspect because they have given another oxygen pump to Netanyahu's policy with this attack, but honestly I think at this point it won't be enough to unite the Israelis once again under his guidance.
It indicates he's not a warmonger. No new conflicts under Trump's presidency it is not an indication that he will know how to deal with or resolve the conflicts that are currently taking place.
The solution to the situation is simple: tell Israel if they attack Iran, they're on their own, and to end the attacks on Gaza or they'd lose their military aid (paid by US taxpayers) and place sanctions. That will stop the Israelis. Of course, this won't happen and we all know why it won't.
So what is the solution? It's going to depend on what Iran does, me thinks, and whether it's Biden or Trump in office won't matter.
