We can make them habitable. There are much better candidates in the exos and super earths than Mars but they are much further away, so either we leapfrog something in propulsion (or physics related to space-time) or we terraform them as a first step.

Ive already answered the question. Nobody should be forced to live together.

He even went on to calculate the surface of said factory. See, that's the problems with a minority of high IQ people, they think they can be everything. They should stick to their respective fields. For him, now, it's sales, not even engineering.

He calculated that 100 giga factories could power the need of the entire world in sustainable energy and not necessarily use solar panels either. We are talking about factories mostly operated by robots in the forseable future. Until then, obviously Chineses are working more hours and could have an advantage as a result in making that transition that he won't be able to compete globally with.

    Original quote:
“I think there will be some very strong companies coming out of China, there is just a lot of supertalented hardworking people in China who strongly believe in manufacturing,” he added.

“They won’t just be burning the midnight oil, they will be burning the 3am oil, they won’t even leave the factory type of thing, whereas in America people are trying to avoid going to work at all.”

That gets transformed into internet fantasy headlines that mid IQ are willing to buy. The same who think selective sorting or eating vegetable is gonna save the planet.
Elon Musk thinks people should work in factories 24 hours a day

So , for now, it's the Chinese, and not the robots, working to implement his ideas. The day it's gonna be the robots we'll talk again about this.

Besides lack of balance, we have a most worryingly problem on this era: humans are not increasing their IQ but they are losing instinct regardless... We even have a couple of fine examples on this forum.

He definitely got a hidden agenda: conveniently posting first nation numbers but never the top ones like India, Pakistan or Bangladesh... Back in the Middle Ages the worldwide population was roughly the same as today's USA and everything was fine, I don't get what's the need to keep producing more people when we are at 8 billion and counting.

The problem is that human beings get easily bored and the yanks have been selling (from a while now) the idea that happiness can be a constant and perpetual state of mind when in reality we all need ups and downs to continue living.

It's a process, you don't go from no robotics to 100% of it overnight. We still need workers, it's the real advantage of China right now and in for the past decades. They are working more, they are not idiots and willing to do the dirty job of manufacturing. That's what he really meant.

An astrophysic PhD wouldn't likely survive more in the wild than a two digits IQ footballer. This is why there are always some reserves to add when people think intelligence is and should be attractive to both sexes, it's not really the almost mechanical intelligence we assess in tests, rather indeed striking that balance between instincts and intelligence. We are all more attracted to instincts in comparison to it than we believe.

If it had been possible to invite Spinoza and Schopenhauer to the same dinner it would have made the saddest evenings in the history of the world. Love creates desire, that creates a need, a lack of, which is suffering. Once fullfield there is no suffering anymore but neither those emotions as well, eventually turning into boredom, so the two perpetual states of mind of humans only alternate like a pendulum between suffering and boredom.

You sometimes ask such stupid questions with the obvious answer.
