This is a rather recent thing in Turkey. Hook ups used to be frown upon but i'm shocked that in recent years it's normalized to the point women no longer feel shame admitting to it. It became american-level way too quickly. I'm still struggling adjusting to it.

Oh, I've seen odd couples. I'm just saying that men and women are "made" to prefer certain traits in their SOs, and women prefer "superior" men because those preferences go back to prehistoric times, and the vast majority of women would avoid "inferior" men (note that the quotes are made to avoid any future misinterpretations where I might be accused of misogyny).

Yes I do agree there is some hard wiring. This is obvious but I don't think the men/women thing is anything as bad as portrayed on here. When I was younger I used to find a lot of nerd types attractive. In the past in some societies a lot of men would not have access to women. You can look at Ireland where the more powerful men had multiple women. This is why certain ydna came to dominate but things changed when Christianity started to dominate and then it became more equal with marriage between a man and a women. That appears to be a factor to me. In the past women were looked on as property and most of human civilisation was polygamous but that wasn't great for a lot of men. Only the powerful men had access to multiple women.

This is all true, but I'm talking about preferences for certain traits in the present. For instance no one would bat or blink an eye if an older rich man dated a younger poor woman, and he was bigger, stronger, smarter, etc., but the reverse in that situation would be about as common as a cookout with Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster. To be fair, about the other topic, I'm not sure what things are truly like for people in their early twenties since I'm not around many people in that age group. I just know that I'm glad that I'm not dating now!

How many female members would be really turned on if their male SO was a lot larger, taller, smarter, and/or stronger than they are, and how many female members would be really turned off if their male SO was a lot smaller, shorter, dumber, and/or weaker than they are? That's almost a moot question because that latter part would almost never happen. I bet that the male members are just the reverse in their preferences and tastes, and I bet that they would value appearances more. No amount of Fourth Wave feminism can change this evolutionary hardwiring in the vast majority of people of both sexes (not even in commie chicks, with blue hair, who date soy boys with thin arms).

The question is how relevant "turned on" is. Women and men both choose mates who allow them to have the families they want. This means they choose people closest to themselves in origin and abilities.

Most people choose compatible SOs. I'm talking about a swap of traditional gender roles that would be palatable to only a very tiny fraction of the population, even people who pretend that such things don't matter to them, and I say this because you can't fool Mother Nature.

But gene therapy will mostly affect your internal health, I don't think that it will change your physical features/basic appearance.

You can already order a baby with PGD for 500 diseases and choose the sex. Add a guarantee it won't die in the next 2 years or it gets replaced and many other "options".
