I'm afraid there's nothing in the video to suggest that it's actually a Ukrainian who's defecting. It could be, but it could also be something else. The fact that the person who published the video is indicating a completely incorrect location in itself makes it suspicious and discrediting.

The comments you posted of people rejoicing at this, I honestly don't understand what the intention was, other than to demonstrate how ignorant they are and how easily people believe anything they put in front of them.

I don't think the person who published it on Reddit is the author of the video. It was published a day earlier (so 4 days ago) on YouTube and the author of the video says that he escaped to Romania.
