Ireland is said to be overwhelmingly Bell Beaker in genetic makeup but the fact is that people there still look extremely distinct to the Germans or Dutch or wherever the Beakers came from, a pure Brunn is extremely hard to find in continental Europe for example.

Being an island which, moreover, was much more distant from mainland Europe than is Britain, has led to them having unique and distinct phenotypes?

Perhaps but Corsica isn't that different to southern France or Italy and Mallorca isn't that different to Spain. Not to mention the Greek islands with the exception of Cyprus.

But Ireland isn't that different to Britain, which is where the comparison really lies.

There are substantial differences i would say in that the features of the people are a bit more rounded, funnily enough i was in an Irish pub yesterday enjoying some of the best Guinness i have ever had and the bar owner had a very Irish look, that sort of short headed brunn type that is seen a lot with a reddish complexion. I find that the closest Brits to the Irish are the Scots from the highlands and islands but they still look different.

Scots are way more Nordic looking than the Irish. I think the least Nordic part of Britain is Wales.

barely really, it's not as dramatic as you make out.

Yes, Scots aren't really that different to other British Isles people and are definitely the most brunet Europeans for their latitude.

Anyone had to go through the continent (or via sea root like some Neolithic people did) to come to Ireland- Mesolitihc people, Neolithic people, Bell Beakers etc.
So there lies the logical inconsistency.
Often what is posted as Brunn are Bell Beakers as well.

4500 years of being mostly isolated from continentals will do it. Compare to the English who are mostly descended from continental Europeans only 1600 years ago yet are still noticeably distinct from all modern continental NW European groups.
    Spoiler!
