Letter from Vlad Tepes / Dracula / to the citizens of Brasov. Letter from Vlad Tepes / Dracula / to the citizens of Brasov - 1476. In the letter he says that "God gave the Christians to reclaim the city which was in Turkish hands. Because the whole fortress wall was destroyed by the Turks, the voivode , seeking to restore it, asking the citizens of Brasov to give him bows, arrows and cannon, as well as saltpeter for the preparation of dust for the fortress, which will serve as a stronghold for both of them. This task was assigned to Dragomir by the voivode. "
Interestingly, the language in which it is written is Old Bulgarian, not just the use of Cyrillic. This shows that the Brasov citizens spoke this language. This is not a church book, but a letter intended to be read to the population of this city. On the first photo - the original, on the second graphic presentation. The name of the governor Dragomir Slavic
...Even if a man lives well, he dies and another one comes into existence. Let the one who comes later upon seeing this inscription remember the one who had made it. And the name is Omurtag, Kanasubigi.

There was practically no difference between Bulgarians and Romanians during the middle ages. There were many Slavic/Bulgarians speakers in Romania/Wallachia, but also many Latin speakers in modern Bulgaria and Macedonia. I explain this with the fact that the Bulgarian Slavic language wasn't imposed everywhere in the Bulgarian empire, especially in the lands north of the Danube. Neverthless, Bulgarians and Romanians were the same people back then, doesn't matter if they spoke Latin or Slavic.
Today we learn in school that the last territories of the Second Bulgarian empire were Tarnovo, Vidin and Dobrogea. But the Bulgarian empire is not less of a predecessor of Wallachia too.
Btw, I am amazed how common everyday words we have with Romanians. Kaskaval, Slanina, Colan etc
