Ethnically speaking why are south Asians less witty/humorous than Europeans?

Punjabis have a good sense of humour, one of my best mates is Punjabi and he is quite sharp and humorous and i have worked with other Punjabis who have been outgoing and jokey. I would say that many of these shopkeepers are more Dravidian or Bengali or from parts of Pakistan, i remember in our local shop we had a Pakistani man and he was very sullen and serious. Where are the British people you have worked with generally from? i think in Britain there is a divide between London/Surrey and the affluent areas and places like Essex, Yorkshire, Liverpool etc where people are more outgoing.

I have only worked in London and South East. Also in Scotland where again they tended to joke around more than in London. But even in London I and my English friend used to joke around all the time with each other, but most others in the office tended to stay serious.

London is a very different environment to further out especially if you work in an office as opposed to say a supermarket or somewhere with less qualified people, when i visited the Hull area back in the summer it was a bit of a culture shock how everyone was just totally at ease around strangers and joked around with each other, as i have said before there is a class difference in how people act in this country, for example the British tradesmen/butchers etc tend to be quite chirpy and cheerful here in London.

They are all bilingual. Traditions? They are basically the same: poop on the toilet, eat beef, Jesus is King, etc...
