Default Should England join the United States?

I haven't fleshed out the details on this but it arose in the CB earlier today. Assuming Scotland goes its own way and the United Kingdom breaks up, England will have a new situation on its hands and may look to new possibilities. Might one of them be joining the United States? I don't know, but it's worth thinking about, and though the thought of it might be resisted at first by even the most pro-American Englishman, it would unquestionably have some benefits.

If the English wanted to go that path then I would support it. But I'm not quite sure how well it would work. What would we do with the English monarchy? Would the English vote for the Democrats, Republicans, or would they be a swing state? Would it be one humongous state like Texas or broken up in several smaller states? It's really interesting to think about and something they should seriously consider.

maybe the 13 colonies should split up from the rest and rejoin England?

Impractical to say the least. And except for historical reasons not even sensible. The Southern and New England states have less in common than they do with some states out west by now.

I would push for the southern united states to secede with the former confederate states,if the minority population(nigs) was not as strong in the south. Alas the negroes are too numerous down here.

Why? One of the advantages to having England join the Union is that the US becomes much stronger. What you're talking about would weaken the US and would never be allowed in any case.

Default England join the United States ? !

What makes you think we'd want them to ? I've had occasion to do business with the British and it has helped me to understand just what Churchill meant when he said "We shall muddle through."

It would appear that they don't read business correspondence or don't understand it , and so, muddle through by providing me with information for which I didn't ask about products that I'm not interested in, but never coming within a country mile of the question(s) I asked. What could, and should have been answered in one letter ends up requiring three or four.

I can't help wondering whether acquiring Britain would be an asset or a liability.

Bad idea. The Western financial system is about to crash again so everyone will be down the s**t shoot anyway.

Well, maybe you'd like to start by asking why we can have friggin Hawaii in the Union but not England.
