Strange sounds heard across Canada on Jan 12

These two videos are from the Prairies, but similar sounds were reported in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island.

I didn't hear anything, or heard of any reports, here in New Brunswick, though.

So what could it be?

Religious and 2012 nuts are saying it's the "Trumpets of the Apocalypse". Conspiracy nuts are saying it's HAARP. Some people are claiming it's promotion for a movie. Other claim it's aliens. The scientific explanation is "earth groaning" which often precedes an earthquake, caused by the magnetosphere moving with the earth's crust. Similar sounds were heard before the earthquake in the Eastern US last year are caught during a live baseball game. See video here:

Recently someone sent me a compilation of these sounds. I think it may have been in Russia, I'm not sure. Anyways, I noticed it was weird how everyone in the video reacted the same way to these sounds by standing there perfectly silent during the weird noises. As if the noises were edited in later. No spontaneous "What the fuck is that?" This one is no different. And a lot of these videos take place in the middle of nowheres, why all the cameras? Although that may be an unfair criticism since all phones these days have cameras. But yeah, I'm skeptical.


It's very, very possible it's a promotion for a video game or a movie. Don't believe me? Shadow of Colossus (video game for PS2) hoaxes are still circling the web years later, with people saying "ZOMG LEVIANTH MONSTER HAS BEEN DISCOVERED IN THIS NEWS REPORT!!" Also, those Super 8 monsters that have been purposely leaked a year before the movie's release are still believed by gullible internet cryptozoologists.

But this is a natural phenomena, apparently. I also posted the baseball game, this was caught, and you can hear the announcers talk about it. The baseball game one was before an earthquake.

What? You have me mistaken. There is a scientific explanation. This is an event that rarely happens though on earth though.
