It's strange to me how Ancestry has Quebec as it's own category when it's likely French + some British Isles.

It's strange to me how Ancestry has Quebec as it's own category when it's likely French + some British Isles.

I have the entire genealogy on the Quebec side-- it's all French, but does incorporate a couple different native Canadian Indian lines, with one native woman finding her way to me 9 different ways/paths. But Ancestry isn't giving me any of that, so they must see it as all French.

Do you know via genealogy how far back your Indigenous ancestry entered? In Quebec, all of mine that the records show was in the 1600's.

I had posted my new AncestryDNA results in Grace O'Malley's earlier thread. I'll post here too.

By paper trail I am 25% Slovak but by DNA I'm only 2% Slovak, from my father. And I have 1% Connacht, Ireland from my father's side. And I have 1% Iceland from my father. I loved the movie The Northman which was made in Iceland.

I wonder why some people are getting their results broken down into sub-headed categories. Mine aren't.

I didn't see any Ancestry Update post by Grace. Oh well!
