The standard of living in Spain are lower than in most of Western Europe, the only exception being Portugal. Everywhere else the level of income is higher than in Spain.

Spain has one of the highest level of unemployment of Europe. And the southern half of Spain has the lowest level of education in the whole Europe, as low as in Turkey.

Spain is the second poorest country of Western Europe. And there's clear differences of development between Northern and Southern Europe that the fact that they are on the same continent don't change.

I'm happy in Europe, I just would not like to live in a shithole like Spain (neither would a lot of Spaniards since millions of them have emigrated from their homeland, often to go in France).
