I doubt its much of a threat or that Iran would wage a nuclear war on Israel.Although i could see Iran and Pakistan use the threat to make Israel comply to the UN resolutions it ignores.
The US is going to have to tell Israel to fuck off at some point as it cant afford these trillion dollar wars where the US loses or the US taxpayer loses and Israel loses nothing and risks nothing.

    TEHRAN | Fri Feb 3, 2012 1:49pm EST

(Reuters) - Iran's supreme leader threatened on Friday to retaliate against the West for sanctions, a day after a U.S. newspaper said defense secretary Leon Panetta believed Israel was likely to bomb Iran within months to stop it building a nuclear bomb...

Iran holds a parliamentary election in a month - its first since a 2009 presidential vote triggered a failed popular uprising - and its tightly-controlled political system will have to cope with the economic hardship caused by sanctions...

Sure it will be tough for us all for a while, the price of oil will double, the whole strait of Hormuz will be a war zone, but i believe confidently the west will prevail and remove this threat of nuclear missiles in a rogue state.
Have you noticed that if you rearrange the letters in ‘illegal immigrants’, and add just a few more letters, it spells, ‘Go home you free-loading, benefit-grabbing, resource-sucking, baby-making, non-English-speaking ********* and take those other hairy-faced, sandal-wearing, bomb-making, camel-riding, goat-f*****g raghead c***s with you.?

    Touché.
Their lack of [geopolitical] realism is astonishing, it's not even funny anymore.

Why are we even caring about Iran anyway? Who cares if they get nukes. What about them having nukes is so bad? Someone explain that to me outside of "The sand-niggers wont do what we tell them to do anymore".

Which is what this is all really about is it not? This is about control! Getting sand-niggers to do what the west wants right? Even if it goes against the sand-nigs best interests people like you don't care?

Its do what we say sand-niggers or get your brain blown out?

The age of imperialism is over. We talk a mean game on this forum about not wanting non-whites in our countries but how can you expect them to quit coming here when we keep blowing up their countries or meddling with their affairs?

The west needs to get off its fucking ivory tower and mind its own business for once.

It's not news that Iran harbors a strong aversion for Israel (and vice versa); or that it provides funding to Hamas and the Hezbollah; or that it has been increasing its military capabilities exponentially in recent years; and to ice the cake we have their nuclear program, which I honestly doubt they would put to use (due to MAD), but it's a very powerful political tool they will readily depend on to stop Israel bullying in the M.E.

Who knows...maybe they will slip one little nuke on the black market which will mysteriously show up in their friend's hands; of course they will deny any involvement by saying "oops it accidently fell from my pocket".

You're out of your mind. The US of A will not (and cannot) tolerate any entity to control the region.

Call it whatever you want. But we are talking about a superpower's national interests here. Grow up.

Firstly when dealing with the Iranian leadership you have to know who you are dealing with.

    Iran hostage crisis:

The seizure of the American embassy was initially planned in September 1979 by Ebrahim Asgharzadeh, a student at that time. He consulted with the heads of the Islamic associations of Tehran’s main universities, including the University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, Amirkabir University of Technology (Polytechnic of Tehran) and Iran University of Science and Technology. Their group was named Muslim Student Followers of the Imam's Line.

Asgharzadeh later said there were five students at the first meeting, two of whom (including current Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - although this claim has been denied by the Iranian government - the Iranian opposition as well as a CIA investigation on the matter) wanted to target the Soviet embassy because the USSR was “a Marxist and anti-God regime.” But two others, Mirdamadi and Habibolah Bitaraf, supported Asgharzadeh’s chosen target — the United States. "Our aim was to object against the American government by going to their embassy and occupying it for several hours," Asgharzadeh said. "Announcing our objections from within the occupied compound would carry our message to the world in a much more firm and effective way." Mirdamadi told an interviewer, "we intended to detain the diplomats for a few days, maybe one week, but no more." Masoumeh Ebtekar, spokeswoman for the Iranian students during the crisis, said that those who rejected Asgharzadeh's plan did not participate in the subsequent events
