Maria Tonyan, 99-year-old Yerevan woman, is one of those unique elderly women who continue to work actively at such an age. She teaches musical harmony for the past 80 years. According to her words she loves working with children and she hopes to teach children for many more years to come.

Someone should interview her about her experiences, during the century old 1915 genocide, and post WWI years. During the post WWI years (1918-1923), after the Western Armenian Homeland was genocided and ethnically cleansed, Artzakh (aka Karabakh) rebuffed and repelled Turkic aggression in the area; unfortunately, the Soviet Bolsheviks betrayed and backstabbed them.

Stanford professor of civil and environmental engineering Anne Kiremidjian was awarded the 2018 John Fritz Medal. The award, which is presented by the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES), recognizes one individual each year for scientific or industrial achievements. According to a press statement published by the Stanford University, Kiremidjian received the award for her research in the field of probabilistic seismic risk assessment.

The John Fritz Medal is described as the Nobel Prize for engineering. These prestigious award is given annually for notable scientific or industrial achievements.
