Default Soldiers told to Evangelize in Afghanistan

I am not even sure why this made the news. This is how all the major religions have spread through the world for thousands of years. By shoving their values and beliefs on others:

Caught on Tape: Military Officials at Bagram Urge U.S. Soldiers to Evangelize in Afghanistan

"New video evidence has surfaced showing that U.S. military forces in Afghanistan have been instructed by the military’s top chaplain in the country to 'hunt people for Jesus' as they spread Christianity to the overwhelmingly Muslim population."

Do they think of themselves as missionaries? Or the new crusaders?

This is very interesting for a number of reasons. I've been reading up for a long time on US Foreign Policies and the tools and methods they employ with which to subvert and overthrow foreign countries and territories.

Some of the methods they employ is the use of NGO's, "charities" (charity doesn't exist in real life) and religion, particularly, the Evangelical movement.

Why Evangelical? Well it makes sense when you think of it. There are millions of them in the US. They're fanatical and masters at brainwashing. They're well financed. It is run on a "for-profit" basis.

The average person isn't aware that the ties between the US Administrations (Democrat / Republican.... same difference) and the Evangelicals run deep. They're often particularly active in countries where relations with the US aren't particularly good. It's not unusual for their activities to be funded by the US Govt in return for gathering information and providing intelligence in the (often remote) communities they operate in. Add brainwashing and money collecting into the mix and the picture becomes darker and darker.

A while back Chavez booted a number of Evangelicals out of Venezuela, presumably due to their extra-curricular activities on behalf of Uncle Sam. Some articles on the topic worth reading:

It's a US brainwashing and intelligence gathering operation which makes use of missionaries. It's a continuation of the same methods from the past used by Imperialists and Colonialists to subject the natives and to keep tabs on them.

Some time ago a number of Korean Evangelicals got kidnapped in Afghan. Some were shot. A guy at my work knew a woman who was killed out there, also working for some or other "Christian" type "charity" or "NGO".

Let's look at it from the bright side: suppose that they will actually manage to spread Christianity in that Muslim region it might

    1) make them less inclined to mess with us as Islam is the driving force behind their wars against others.

    2) it may have the nice side effect that they and their Muslim neighbors start butchering each other in the good old fashioned way and thus they will be so preoccupied for the next 50 or so years that they will have to leave us alone.

Not a top down order: the US government absolutely hates this kind of stuff because it interferes with their plan to create 'moderate' (secular) Islam as an entity to combat 'radical Islam'. They have in fact deployed considerable resources to convince the 'moderate' (able to be bought off) muslims that they are in fact not doing such things.

Much of the military is recruited from the south, and from lower/working class whites especially in rural areas in the midwest and west, places where religious beliefs strong, and the military is still an organization in which the leaders have to rise up from the ranks.

There's been periodic tug-of-wars in the past between the political leadership (secular/liberal) and the heavily religious military, particuarly over the issue of gays in the military, also some alleged harassment of jews at military service (officer training) academies.

The US government is generally hostile to evangelical Christianity, instead preferring the 'Unitarian Universalist' type version of Christianity. They really couldn't give a rats' ass whether someone is Christian, Muslim, Pagan, whatever so long as they go along with the multicult and support Israel.
