Officer Who Arrested Gibson Settles Discrimination Case

The deputy who arrested Mel Gibson for drunken driving and later claimed he suffered religious discrimination at work has settled his lawsuit against the Sheriff's Department.

Lawyers for James Mee said on Tuesday a $US50,000 ($A46,737) settlement was reached and must be approved by a county claims board. A trial scheduled to begin this week was cancelled.
