No not really, but when you ask a random number of Austrians which country they hate, Germany will turn out No. 1, no doubt. They don't really hate Germany but there definitely is some rivalry going on. In my opinion mostly due to an inferiority complex of Austrians towards Germans.

Yes ...There were no germanic people till 400 A.D. in the Alpine area (Roman Limes and Danubio river were the borders)

You are rightabout the roman provinces in this area, but there was a germanic settlement dating back to the first century AD opposing the roman fort of VINDOBONA in what is now Wien Floridsdorf. We also have other Germanic settlements in Weinviertel (northeastern part on Lower Austria)
