    Default Statues from your country

Post here pictures of nice/interesting statues from your country.

(Remember that statues are sculptures of a certain size representing people, animals or both together)

    ---

I inaugurate the thread with these four statues in the Font del Centenari, a fountain in Tarragona's Rambla or central boulevard with four statues built in 1954 to represent the four cardinal points and races of the world:

    · the North or Europe, the White Man, the Bear

    · the South or Africa, the Black Man, the Hippo

    · the East or Asia, the Yellow Man, the Elephant

    · the West or America, the Red Man, the Crocodile

    The Leaf (in my town)

The glass leaf sculpture by local artist Amber Hiscott is the centrepiece of Castle Square and was unveiled on the 27th November 1996. The inscription around the pool edge comes from Dylan Thomas's Rain cuts the place we tread and reads, "We sail a boat upon the path, paddle with leaves, down an ecstatic line of light."

Now here's a statue in my town, as opposed to a sculpture. No, I think they're still sculptures

It's the most famous statue in my city and it's very ugly (after all it's from the commie era).
