Default Which is the greater phenotypical divide in Europe; North/South or East/West?

I guess a majority opinion is that the most division is North/South.

    Eastern Europe:

    Northern Europe:

    Southern Europe:

    Both.

It's North-South. If people live on the same latitude and in similar climatic conditions, then they also look similar.

Quite often a Finn can pass as an Irishman and vice versa, while the difference between Finns and Greeks is huge.

West/East is much stronger than North/South. Spaniards look closer to Brits than to Balkanites and Balkanites look closer to Poles than to Spaniards.

Yes, it's visible even if a person is a mix between Estonian and Russian, he/she usually looks "different".

But practically 1% of Russia's population is native to the same latitude as Estonia is.

Take a map and look at Russia for 5 minutes and then maybe you'll realize that it borders the Black sea and has a vast Steppe region etc. Russians are a diverse bunch of people who look foreign in all Northern-European countries in most cases.

Russia isn't Northern-European far from it.

When I think of Russians I think of the European Russians and they are certainly not far from any European country.

Just look up Russian brides and tell me that they can't be European??

    This would look foreign?
