Many years ago, I had an original LP Record Version from the voice of Komitas Vartabed (aka Komitas Soghomonian).

This is the original version, and I listened to it many times with my LP Record. Unfortunately, it warped and melted in the sun, and I don't have it anymore. I like it better without the modern stuff. The disco rhythm and style isn't really my cup of tea, but I like the newer one too.

I especially like how this piece was sung by Komitas, and the piano melody is what makes it so wonderful.

Komitas Vartebad was earmarked to be tortured and executed in the century old Armenian Genocide. He was spared from execution; however, he did suffer from torture and anguish while he was imprisoned, as well as when he was held captive on death marches. The mental and physical anguish from what Komitas witnessed and suffered resulted in Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD), and landed him in a mental hospital.
