    the christian religion is basically a politheistic creed, particularly the catholic sect with all those saints and the Virgin Mary.

    Monotheism is an aberration, a dead-end that only leads to either fanaticism, or atheism. It can only exist when supported by a state. There is no reason to believe that this would have evolved anywhere else.
