From what I can make of this long ass article you've thrown at me the 'attacks' consist mostly of flying into disputed airspace. If NATO went to war over such stupid things we'd have been at war with Russia over Estonia a hundred times by now.

Well, members of Nato, particulary France, is helping Greece and Cyprus maintain its boarders, as well as non-NATO members such as Russia. USA and Britain are pro-Turkish both in NATO and EU, and ask for Greece to "comprimise" on the Aegean issue as well as the EEZ.

Recent serveys have found large amounts of petrol under the sea, Turkey with its energy imported dependence would love to get its hands on it, and threatens war with greece if it drills for its oil in its own EEZ. USA and Britain say nothing, while France and Russia sign defence agreements with Cyprus and Greece. The new defensive relationship Greece has with Israel also helps maintian naval and air superiority.

If NATO really was protecting Greece like you say, we wouldn't need these special treaties. But Turkey is too vital arm of NATO to make angry, so they let them do this, as well as their treatment of the Kurds, without saying anything. We understand the situation.

When America takes its primary focus away from the Middle East and to Asia-Pacific, maybe they won't be so giving in favor of Turkey. We will see.
