In Lombardy the difference between Milan and the "provincia" is not as pronounced.

Judging only my experience in my mom native place (Valle Seriana, Bergamo), the 38% light eyes in Lombardy is a true number, with peaks of 50% in some villages of High Valle Seriana (Clusone, etc).
Milano is obviously lower due to the heavy non euro presence and due to southern immigration.

I'm not sure these "studies" are very accurate, it's a bit more common to see brown hair among Norwegian adults than blonde hair.

Of course the valleys have preserved their original characters much better.

Probabily Western Lombardy until 1950 was not much different from Orobic valleys.

Yes, probably all Lombardy was very homogeneous, but maybe 1950 was already a bit "late" as at that time Lombardy was already industrialized.
