    Humans didn't evolve from apes, we share a common ancestor with them. I don't at all understand the Aquatic Ape Theory. Human aren't apes, and we didn't evolve from them.

    I don't like when people claim we evolved from Apes. Since it implies that Humans are no longer Apes. Our earliest Ape ancestors was something along the lines of a gibbon, living an arboreal lifestyle with no tail like its monkey cousins. It is accepted by most mainstream scientists that Humans are still classified as Apes. Some go further and claim that Apes (including Humans) could still be classified as Monkeys even.

    I believe all the simia split off from the ancestral homo branch during the Oligocene 34 - 23 million years ago, this was the view of earlier scientists such as Henry Fairfield Osborn and Frederick Wood Jones. So i don't believe at any stage our ancestors were primate anthropoids.
