    Ofcourse. Why would they bite the feeding hand?

    This is one of the biggest problems nowdays, since the traditional left voters (in this case french workers) are shifting for more nationalist oriented parties. So the left needs voters, they promise free money and such for the immigrants and the immigrants vote for them. The left gains votes and stays in the parlament and open the doors for more potential voters. This is a evil "hamster wheel", I tell ya.

    Muslims, though usually conservative in their sociocultural views, support socially liberal parties only because those parties are most accomodating to them. It's nothing more than cynical interest group politics on their part before they have the numbers to organize Islamic parties in earnest.

    Unfortunately, a lot of these old guard lefties moving to the FN are keeping their baggage of Communist-style beliefs which carry pitfalls of their own. In a very real way Marine Le Pen herself represents a fusion of old left communism and a sort of Poujadist populism. Neither of these things is the antidote that France or Europe needs.
