Sun tanning

Keep your exposure to the sun at a minimum and use sun block that's 60 or higher. With a depleted ozone layer, the more you sun tan the greater your chances are of developing skin cancer, needless to say.

I personally dislike the sun.Whenever I go to the beach I stay under shade or at the pubs and don't really care about the tan.See cold,rainy or foggy weather...that is what I like and my skin tone approves it.Cheers

It is demonstered that a balanced tan is ok, because a controlled exposure to the sun gives the organism some vitamin D, important for the bone strenght. In Southern Europe, the normal exposition to the sun is enough to garantee a healthy individual all the vitamine D he needs. The problem exists for people who don't expose to the sun at all.
The sun also improves your mood.
But of course, a pale person cannot expose to the sun in the same way a dark skinned person can. For pale people and children is suggested, when visiting Southern Europe, to expose slowly to the sun, starting from the early morning and late afternoon, avoiding the hottest hours (from 11 to 15).

If the natural tan does well to the organism, lamps damage it. So at the end of the day my answer is: expose to the sun in a controlled way and second the nature. There is a season for everthing.

Not only in Austria, unluckly extreme lamp sunbathing is a sick mode also here

Look the face...too much make up...brr, she looks like a etrurian tombal mask.
(i'm not saying she's ugly, obviously...but in many time too much make up and lam bathing are worse than a normal make up/natural tan)
