This map show a total different situation

I don't know which is more realistic.

Is it possible that in Campania more than a half of immigrants are Ukranians?

Great maps. Italy is a country I'd like to visit some day, it's so complex and interesting.

About the languages, are they mainly mutually intelligible, like the oil languages of Northern France or are they very different from each other?

If i speak in pure and fast piedmonteis or bergamask with a sicilian or vice versa, he definitely wouldn't understand anything (and viceversa).
However, 90% of the population could speak a good standard italian.

A decent standard Italian is nowadays spoken by the totality of Italian population.
Probably only few people that live in south Tirolese area can't speak Italian because they tend to use German as mothertongue. But in the rest of the country everyone can understand, write and speak Italian.
The incidence of illiteracy in Italy is nowadays lower than 0.5%, it's impossible that 10% Italians don't speak their national language.
