Capital punishment. A long, long time ago I would have been in favor of it, but now the idea comes across as barbaric. And I would extend that clemency to those who now seek to replace us in our own countries. No: these people can't be mentally o.k and I doubt whether they're actually able to stand trial. Those who can't should be driven off to the nearest hospital and confined there for life. Those who can should be put on trial and then sentenced to life imprisonment (+ hard labor) and/or compulsory therapy in a mental hospital.

In the case of criminal (rapists or murderers) foreigners, I think that taking all their belongings, sentencing them to long prison terms and hard labor and compulsory deportation may also get the job done.

I am disappointed to see that the poll here shows a lot more in favor of this! Picture yourself sitting there for a moment on death row, knowing your innocent. Or picture yourself sitting there knowing your guilty, but also knowing that in your life you were treated in such a way as to produce you, with all your flaws and evil. It's all tragic. An eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind.

I think as a society we ought to reconsider what we see as the point of punishment for criminal acts.

Our feminized civilization is far more concerned with the well being and rights of criminals than punishment for their wrong-doing or avenging their victims.

It appears the highest societal goal is to reform and release criminals back into society.

This isn't a view I take. Those who commit some acts forfeit their membership in our society. I don't want to feed and board them and I don't want them to get to take their place back at the table after they've sat through their time out.

I'm strongly in favor of the death penalty for those deserving of it.

Murderers who have been proven without doubt to have committed the crime, get the death penalty. Pedophiles, even just ones who download child pornography without physically pursuing a child themselves, get the death penalty. Rapists who have been proven without doubt to have committed the crime, get the death penalty also. Terrorists, mass shooters, etc. also get the death penalty. I have also encountered people in my life who have been to prison 10 or more times... there comes a point where there is no chance of rehabilitation. I'm not sure about the death penalty for a guy that's robbed 10 convenience stores and shows no intention or even capability of changing as a person, but we ought to have some serious conversations about how much of our resources we waste on people who contribute nothing and destroy as much as they can.
