It's debatable whether Tsiftetli is actually Greek though. It was brought by Greeks from Anatolia.... So it's Anatolian in origin, but then again it was brought by ethnic Greeks from Anatolia. What's your opinion?

Tsifteteli is a generic Eastern Mediterranean dance(Greek included) which has also a symbolic character, i think it has to do with the Moon Goddess, it might have also a relation to Aphrodite which is Venus in Latin and Ishtar in the East.

There is some descriptions of dances in Ancient Greece which seem similar.
Aristophanis describes a dance called Kordax with similar characteristics.

The Bouzouki player who plays in the video i posted is specialized in Tsiftetelia he is from Mytiline
or maybe better was since i don't know if he lives anymore....
