There are Armenian posters in the Apricity posting tanned Greeks or some out-law immigrants from the Middle East saying "those are the Greeks, they are swarthy" or even trying to steal something from Byzantium. I think Petros do not belong to them, he just tried to connect the East with Greece through this orientalid music, perhaps he feels familiar with this kind of music but that's not Greek and not very popular, usually very low strata of Greek society still listen to this kind of music as well as the gypsies.

Bouzouki is NOT the pandura, just one of it's descendants. And please stop playing dumb, you know well it's not about the instrument but the type of music played with it. The music you just posted has nothing to do with the music in your earlier post. That rembetika/laika brought here by certain anatolians a century ago. Unlike most greek traditional folk music (including that of the pontians) that is a product of proud and strong people, this a pathetic and sentimental music of decadent junkie eastern refugees. This music was rightly hated for decades and was confined to the miserable underclass. Unfortunately Greece today is decadent and its people cannot bear the loftiness of feeling of their ancestors. Instead they prefer the κλαψομουνιά and κακομοιριά.

Lol, these are all nonsense, are you sure you are Greek or a Balkanian? Why do you call yourself a Balkan trash? Who is dumb and knows nohing about Greek music? Are you sure you are not an impostor pretending you are something else than what you are? And why do you troll ancient Greeks with this avatar? Anyway, with only 5 posts you can only be considered as a sockpuppet troll!
Why to answer to all these nonsense anyway? These I post already are enough.
Rebetiko is Greek music
Rebetiko
The musical roots of rebetiko date back to Byzantine ecclesiastical music and folk song of Asia Minor and of the Aegean islands.

All Rebetikο music is based on these scales of Re of the ancient Greek Dorian way.
Όλη η ρεμπέτικη μουσική στηρίζεται σε αυτές τις κλίμακες της Ρε του αρχαίου ελληνικού Δωρικού τρόπου.

The Rebetiko song is the Greek urban song in its beginning. It evolved through Greek music tradition, folk song and kleftiko by the inhabitants of Greek cities.

Rebetiko is also recognized as Greek music by UNESCO.

The Heptapyrgion, also popularly known by its Ottoman Turkish name Yedi Kule
The Heptapyrgion (Ancient Greek: Ἑπταπύργιον), modern Eptapyrgio (Επταπύργιο), also popularly known by its Ottoman Turkish name Yedi Kule (Γεντί Κουλέ), is a Byzantine and Ottoman-era fortress situated on the north-eastern corner of the Acropolis of Thessaloniki in Greece. Despite its name, which in both languages means "Fortress of Seven Towers", it features ten, and was probably named after the Yedikule Fortress in Constantinople (modern Istanbul, Turkey). It served as the major redoubt of the city's acropolis, as well as the seat of its garrison commander in Ottoman times, until the late 19th century. It was then converted to a prison (Φυλακές Επταπυργίου), which remained open until 1989. References to the infamous Yedi Kule prison abound in the Greek rebetika songs.
The Heptapyrgion is located in the north-eastern corner of the city's acropolis. Although the urban core of the city essentially dates from its foundation by Cassander in 316 BC, the walls that defined the medieval and early modern city, and that are still visible today, date to the late Antiquity, when the Roman emperor Theodosius I (r. 379–395) fortified the city anew. The five northern towers of the Heptapyrgion, along with the curtain wall that connects them, forming the northern corner of the acropolis, probably date to this period. Another theory, dating their construction to the 9th century, has also been brought forth.
As a prison
During the 1890s, the fortress was converted into a prison. The prison is well known through its frequent occurrence in the underground rebetiko genre, and many songs feature its colloquial name, Yedi Kule.
