Some traits I think may be typical for such types are narrow and downturned noses (in some only possible to observe when they smile) more bowed zygomatic arches (large cheekbones) and sharper features in general. The corresponding personality is one that is stubborn or difficult, temperamental, and highly intelligent.

Yes, warlike could also describe it...
Yet it is not restricted in any way to mountain people, actually the people of the flat land were absolutely in this process as well, as long as higher level individual and group selection was active, often even more so!

For example in Central-Eastern Europeans flat-fertile-open lands you had primarily Nordid, Mediterranid and Cromagnid, the latter often part influenced-altered in a Nordo-Mediterranid direction and always with those traits mentioned. Socially dominant, competitive forms.

Crucial is the intraspecific competition, the individual and group selection on a higher level with sufficient ressourses to keep up a higher biological standard.

Among Melanesians f.e. the largest differences are not between people living higher or lower, but living in more or less isolated, more or less favourable areas.

Those which have to live in the worst areas, often surrounded by stronger elements, show usually the worst traits, some even with various inheritable and malnutritional diseases among them, some higher level groups even refuse to breed with them, they have various inbreeding defects and inbreeding depression.

Similar to other areas of the world were we see "traditional" tribal societies, like in America among Indianids as well.

There is a chain from the most dominant group to those which are close to extinction and since this chain constantly moves, what's at the lowest end will change and there is a selective pressure in a specific direction - in the case of higher level individual and group selection, towards more progressive racial traits.

Arrow Scientist's study classifies different shapes of noses

The hawk: Barbra Streisand's sharp profile is 'unattractive'
The Mirren: Queen actress Helen's is thin and pointed
The Greek: Fabregas's classic shape is often found on models
The aquiline: Daniel Radcliffe's nose symbolises a cool tactician
The Roman: With a sloping tip, Tom Cruise’s shows ambition
The Rumpole: One in 200 have a bulbous beak like Leo McKern
The Celestial: Carey Mulligan’s turned-up shape is a beauty
The Lenin: Broad with large nostrils, found on one in 25
The Redknapp: Just one in 50 have a nose like Spurs boss Harry
The Nixon: A rarity, fewer than one in 100 had a presidential proboscis
The Tara: Just one of 1,300 studied had a nose like Palmer-Tomkinson

......... Women like a nose like Angelina Jolie’s – a very delicate nose with not a lot of bulk,’ he said.
‘Men like straighter noses. In general people don’t like fleshy tips or excessive bumps.’

    Default Noses and Attractiveness

For a lot of people, a long nose especially if bent is to be unattractive, and that is why people get nose jobs. For other people, they like a larger or differently-shaped nose (I am talking about you Loki!) Some don't want their nose to be too small either, or too wide looking (like negroid), or turned up in a weird way.

Do you think how someone's nose looks makes them attractive or not? What kind of nose do you think is attractive/unattractive? Which ethnicity in general in your opinion has the perfect nose?

I think it has to do more with facial structure (the way things are placed on the face) For example, a man could share same hair, eyes, skin pigmentantion (even the nose alone) than him yet not be as good looking.

A "big" nose on a guy can looks good since is a masculine trait.
In a woman is a different thing though... A big nose can ruin a woman´s face

I don't dislike long noses, often I prefer them to short snub ones. But it's true that I prefer them not hooked. All in all, it's about how harmonious they can be with regard to the rest of features.

Cases of long noses I don't dislike.
