Tattoos (offtopic from member pic section)

What was your thought behind the swallow?

There wasn't much thought behind the image itself other than that I liked it a lot. Swallows (and birds in general) are often seen as a symbol of freedom, though. Which kinda fits with the reason I got it.

I had a panic disorder (and still have, to some degree) and I was afraid to go out. I usually locked myself in my room whenever I got a panic attack and didn't go outside my house much at all. I even had it in school, which made me skip school a lot. But I had always wanted a tattoo and one day I just decided to get one, to do something I wanted to do without being afraid. So I went and got the fucking tattoo. So to me it's kind of a symbol of freedom, being fearless etc.

All have very significant meaning to me.



That is a variation of a Celtic sun design that I saw on the internet. The original design was huge, so I just took the inner part.



My largest and most recent tattoo. It says "Voice of the Otherworld". I got that tattoo after I appeared on an album intro entitled "Otherworld" by the band Eluveitie. I earned that nickname on the Eluveitie forums, and so claimed it. Copyrighted and everything



My very first tattoo. A Triskele. I got it because of the meaning behind it "Whichever way you throw me, I will always land on my feet". I got it because it represented my life and what I had been through, and how no matter how bad things were, or how bad they'll be in the future, I will always come out of it alive.

The font in the second one is really nice.

I don't really associate my tattoos with particular meaning though your explanation does make sense I think it is better to get tattooed for a reason instead of doing it just because it is in fashion etc.
