Hello and welcome to my first trip report of 2021. Happy new year to everyone and hopefully it'll be a much better year all round! Today we're back in The Netherlands to review the International Intercity service from Amsterdam Centraal to Brussels-Midi/Zuid in Belgium. It's a loco hauled service which is a great alternative between the cities, along the same corridor that Thalys & Eurostar services use. Enjoy the ride!
Date of Filming - 13/7/20
Camera: GoPro Hero 7 Black
Operator: NS (Nederlandse Spoorwegen)
Departure: Amsterdam Centraal, The Netherlands

This is a walk at the Ostend - Mariakerke Beach Promenade, the walk starts at the Oostend art program, we walk past the casino into the neighboring Mariakerke promenade, all in 4K60FPS Oostende is also the easiest seaside destination to reach by train since it is in a direct connection (14min travel time) with Brugge (Brujas/bruges) (train departing in Antwerp, stops are Ghent and Brugge and final stop in Ostend) I would certainly recommend this should you visit Belgium!

Antwerp (Dutch: Antwerpen) is the second largest city in Belgium (after Brussels). Antwerp was a financial and trade center in the 16th century and has some beautiful historical buildings. We start this evening walk at the Grote Markt - Antwerp's Market Square with the Brabo Fountain and the Town Hall. There in the centre the Flemish Renaissance architecture can be seen in many places. We walk around in the Old Town with the gothic "Cathedral of Our Lady" (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal). Later we check out the Groenplaats before we walk towards the railway station were we end this walk. Filmed in June 2019 Camera: Osmo Pocket in 4K60

The Antwerp Central Station, also known as Middenstatie (Middle station) or Spoorwegkathedraal (Railroad Cathedral), was first used in 1905. The structure is made up from a steel platform covering and a stone station building in an eclectic style. Recently, the station was completely renovated and in 2007 a tunnel underneath the station and a part of Antwerp was opened, reverting the station’s status as a terminus where are all trains have to turn back. In 2009, the American magazine Newsweek chose the Antwerp Central Station as the fourth most beautiful train station in the world. Date recorded: November 2018 Weather: 20 | 68F

The Belgian Army of the First World War fought against the invading Germans during the German invasion of Belgium in 1914. This was the beginning of the Western Front of WW1 in Europe. The Belgian army (Armée belge) had old dark blue uniforms but had descent weaponry. In this video more about the Belgian WW1 uniform. History Hustle presents: The Belgian Army of the First World War (1914).
