The Great Serb Migrations happened at those time periods but migration began before when the Ottomans started conquering Serbia in the 1300s. Serbs managed to reach 50% of Vojvodina's populatino by 1483. There was another wave of migration into Vojvodina in the latter half of the 16th century as well. There was also a Serb mercenary (Jovan Nenad) in the 16th century that declared Vojvodina independent from Hungary after they lost to the Ottomans at Mohacs. Serbs also migrated to the southern part of modern Hungary and became the majority in some cities such as Szeged and Pecs. Most of those Serbs migrated to Vojvodina after the Treaty of Trianon.

Pecs always had lot more Croats than Serbs.

Just double checked, it was referring to South Slavs in general, so you're probably right. Thought it was only Serbs. So you're probably right.

After territory of present-day Hungary came under Habsburg administration, a new wave of Serb refugees migrated to the area in 1690, as a consequence of the Habsburg-Ottoman war. In the first half of the 18th century, Serbs and South Slavs were ethnic majority in several cities in the territory of present-day Hungary, including Buda, Szentendre, Baja, Pécs, Szeged, etc. After the devastating Ottoman wars these cities had a very low population.

She was talking about the east Roman Empire. It collapsed after defeat from the Ottomans and had no influence after the Ottoman conquest. The competing influences in SE Europe were mainly just the Ottomans and Austria-Hungary.
