No pan-Germanic flag - should we design one?

Pan-something flags usually come out ugly, like the 1864 pan-iberian flag. An aberration:

the portuguese flag is ugly, but this one wins the prize

If we were to combine those three flags, I'd imagine something more along the lines of this really.
Not sure how to incorporate the Burgundian flag though. But would that be necessary when the flag of the HRE is in? Weren't the seventeen provinces part of the empire?

Nice, but the eagle makes it a bit German. We need 3 lions in there somewhere for the English to balance out the German.

I'm against the idea, we don't need anymore division between Germanics,Slavs, and Romance people.

Have a look at these Pan-European Flags instead

I don't worry about Germanics unifying, but the idea of a Pan-Slavic state with Russia in it terrifies me.

A Germanic alliance would be dominated by Germany and England.
A Romance alliance would be more equal because France, Spain and Italy are fairly well matched but France is perhaps politically and economically closer to Germanics.
A Celtic alliance would be smaller than England alone and unimportant whilst a Slavic alliance including Russia would be very influential.

Not really sure how to incorporate them as well and still give it a "traditional" look.
Unless we just split it into 4 parts (same layout as the pan-iberian flag), and have just the flags of England, Scandinavia HRE and some other (North German Confederation or German Empire??) there next to each other.
But to me, that idea seems more chaotic and messy.

I'd rather not see something with relatively modern military symbols on it.
I jsut don't connect germanic with that. It gives more of a Nazi vibe than anything else.

It should be simple, 2 or three colors and some kind of symbol that all germanic countries have some kind of relation to. Perhaps an animal, that is not a bird.

To have a Pan-Germanic flag doesn´t sound like a bad idea per se.. It really sounds a bit cool!

I have seen pan-Germanism was never serious deal like our pan-Slavism. Especially English are reluctant. Pan-Romance movements were also always quite weak. But to be fair pan-Slavism isn't terribly stron either especially not now.

Historically that is a German flag, what makes it pan-Germanic?
