Raine got really mad at me, when I misidentified the birthplace of Heraclitus, a PreSocratic Greek Philosopher, from Ephesus. It happened when I went along with someone who placed the philosopher's birthplace in the Levant. She sent me some rude insults too (in Rep Comments). Recently, I took her off my ignore list, but she still hasn't made peace with me.

Russian blogger Igor Shiryaev was among the group of journalists who visited Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh).

He wrote in a Facebook post: Having traveled to a lot of beautiful and exotic spots on the planet, I find Karabakh one of the few places that I call real. Nowhere else do I feel so free and at the same time safe as in Karabakh.

    Have no idea.
There lived local isolated Caucasian mountaineers related to modern Dagestanian peoples. They were conquered and assimilated by Indo-European Armenians. Then was a Turkic migration wave that settled the region populated then by Armenians.
There is still alive Udy people, two villages in Azerbaijan from Dagestan language group whose ancestores lived there before Armenians.
Though I can understand Armenians. Indo-Europeans came in the Caucasus much earlier then Turks.
But their and Ossetians' claims towards aboriginal Georgians and Lazes are ridiculous and even impudent.

Its Armenian land. Really, it isn't rocket science. My paternal roots trace back to Artsakh.

Udy people descend from Caucasian Albanians. They and their ancestors were a Lezgic people, NE caucasians.
Some Georgian historians found some texts in Mt Sinai church in Egypt, conserved by priests for 1500 years. Thus documented. Caucasian Albanians were among earliest Christian states together with Georgia and Armenia.
Originally they were Orthodox Dyophysite Christians like Georgians and Byzantines. Then, when some of them shifted to Armenian Monophysiticism, they started to disappear through assimilation.

Then the Arabs started to conquer anything until Caspian Gates.
Arabs and Armenians were allied and the Albanians started to die out then.
Armenians, in joint operations with Arabs, were invading their lands and burning Albanian bibles.

The aim wasn't physical genocide but cultural genocide (assimilation). That worked. Through time, Albanians disappeared among Armenians and Georgians. 20k Udys are all that's left from them.

They were part of the Armenian Church. And Georgia was also part of our church until their conversion to Greek Orthodoxy during the Byzantine era. But kudos to you for imagination and creativity lol

Armenians colonized left side of the Mtkvari river while Georgian settled and assimillated the left side of the Alazani river. Small territories of historical Albania. While the most part of Caucasian Albania and Iranian Atropatena was conquered and colonized by Oghuzes.
