    Default Anatolian Turks & Turkey

    I respect them very much.

The main opposition to Turkey in Europe comes from the Jewish Sarkozy. But France's Islamic problems do not come from Anatolian Turks, but instead from its former colonies - i.e. Algeria, Morocco etc.

My only wish for the rising Turkey is that it would become secular again and distance itself from religion.

Can you expound more on why you respect them very much? (genuinely curios, haven't studied their history/etc.)

I have read on a different thread some of Onur's posts about the previous Ottoman occupation, and how they allowed the people to live in their ways. Quite a respectable thing (though again, haven't double checked this yet.).

I and many others have already posted in many threads about the Ottoman Empire's religious freedom. I wish they will continue in that spirit and truly become an awesome agent of peace in the world.

Istanbul has actually offered refuge to many Christians who were persecuted in Europe.

    See here.

Thank you, Loki. But Turkey is still secular. I don't think that will ever change.

That`s my wish as well. If the Turkish popupation abandon their faith in Allah
they can get my support. Atatürk gave them the right medicine in form secular reforms but since his dead it seems that the Muslims get the upper hand again in Turkey
Prodigies appear in the oddest of places

The majority of the Turks will stay Islamic, and Turkey and most Turks will continue being secular. That's how it is and looks right now. I do not see any reason to abandon Islam.
