Personally i don't have anything against them defending their way of life and culture. Its not my or the west's place to 'civilize' the 'savages' of any non-white culture. I am not a supporter of cultural imperialism or a fan of the concept of 'white mans burden' where white people have to help the poor brownies.

I may deplore the tactics they use,but if they are fighting for their people and way of life then i can't blame the over all struggle that they are going through.

Although i will say this:the Afghani people and the Iraqi people need to have better people representing them. Because the Taliban and Saddam are not people i would want defending me,but its their choice. That is the right to self-determination.

Well I don't really call myself a nationalist. Traditionally a nationalist is just an uber-patriot. I think you can be a preservationist without being a nationalist if that makes any sense. And if other cultures want to be preservationists.. then yes I support that.

I dont want to defend the Taliban or Saddam Hussein but i think much of it what we know about them comes from American Media. And just because someone is of your ethnic group doesnt mean he adheres to your ideals and is your friend

Colonization started the fad of multiculturalism. If you look at the nations with most of the immigrants like France and the U.K most came from their former colonies which is ironic. The post-1492 European empires were global and often depended on multiculturalism in one way or another. Thus the road was already laid, all empires by their nature are multicultural there is just no way around it. However now multiculturalism now has been implmented in states that are longer empires, or in areas that did not have any empires like the Nordic nations especially Sweden.

I don't support nationalism that is riddled with hate and belittling others no matter who they are. I do however support the advancment of all people and their interests as long it's not at the expense of others.
