Didn't really understand much, I can't speak Italian at all, or any other romance language except Romanian and a little French. There are a few words which are similar to words in Romanian, such as "casa mia" (casa mea = my house), "rido" (a râde = to laugh), "strana" (straniu = strange), "nuovo" (nou = new), "vita" (viaţa = life), "limite" (limite = limits), "regole" (reguli = rules), "interesse" (interes = interest), "aiuta" (a ajuta = to help). Catchy song, though.

You made it easier by posting the lyrics. I understand about half of it. Without the lyrics and just listening to the video i would have understood less.

As i said in anothern thread, IMHo for my perspective portuguese (of Portugal) is the most difficult and different of all the romance languages, after romanian.

Brasilian portuguese is more easy for me. Probabily because has a lot of italianisms and the intonation is very italian influenced (33 millions of italian-brazilians...).

Traffic jams. But it's an expression, garrafa means bottle and "engarrafamento" literaly means something like enbottlement.

Ah! I asked you because here we use the colloquial word "Ingrifamento" (that sound very similar), but means "a sexually excitation/sensation in a male".

Anyway i could see the common root...here we have the world "Caraffa" to indicate a water container.

For all of us, a bottle is a bottle (botella/bottiglia) and a carafe (garrafa/caraffa) is the big one. For the Portuguese, a garrafa is a normal bottle.

That is why they say engarrafamento for what we say embotellament / imbottigliamento.

In Standard Catalan, though, the most common word for a bottle is ampolla.

In Spanish they should say botija, but they say botella, taken from either Catalan or French. They left the word botija for a kind of clay vase.

Funny to see English also uses Romance words for it.
