Iona is located just off the Isle of Mull's south west tip. Most people staying on Mull make the journey over to Iona at some point during their stay and this little video shows you a little of what there is to see. The Isle of Iona plays an important role in the history of christianity. Iona Abbey can be visited and tickets are bought on the island. There are some amazing beaches on Iona and we look at a few of these, as well as Dun I the island's highest point.

Tobermory was built as a fishing port in the late 18th century and is now the main village on Mull. It is a picture-postcard of a place with the brightly painted buildings along the main street to the pier and the high wooded hills surrounding the bay. The village has a good variety of shops, hotels,

Within a single generation, the Victorians built a vast railway network connecting nearly every town in Scotland. Relax and soak up the magic of this enchanting country of castles, lochs, and gothic cities. Listen to this 19th-century Scottish ballad called “Time Wears Awa” by Thomas Elliot as you meander through these beautiful colorized images from the 1890s. #Scotland #Victorian #19thcentury

Insider’s Claudia Romeo traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland to meet with James Macsween, a third-generation haggis producer who has turned his grandfather’s butcher shop into one of the most successful haggis companies in the UK. Haggis is spiced meat encased in animal intestines with salt, spices, and a few other ingredients depending on the recipe. Macsween’s haggis is made using lamb lungs, beef fat and a secret mixture of spices from a 67-year-old recipe. Editor's note: Filmed on February 28, 2020.

Local landowner Johnny Noble and marine biologist Andy Lane started the Loch Fyne Oyster Farm in 1978. Since then, they've grown it into a global business. They export internationally to Barbados, South Africa, and Hong Kong, as well as stocking in prestigious London retailers. But what makes these oysters so special? Loch Fyne farms Pacific oysters, which can be found at various locations on the Scottish coast. These oysters are harvested all around the world, including France, Australia, and New Zealand. Pacific oysters constitute 80% of the global oyster trade and were introduced to the UK in 1964 to replace low stocks of the British native oysters. The native variety can be more expensive and rare, but also riskier to consume. The Scottish lochs have unparalleled water quality. And this loch, in particular, is of class A purity at least six months of the year.Safety here is paramount. Loch Fyne monitors the water constantly for toxins, as do the local authorities. To eliminate viruses, each oyster undergoes a series of checks, starting the moment it arrives from the hatchery.

Nearly 30 years ago, Trees for Life Founder, Alan Watson-Featherstone stood in the Universal Hall and in front of 300 people made a life-long commitment to restore the ancient Caledonian Forest. He started with no resources, no knowledge, no access to land, no funds, but his passion and inspiration have carried him forward and now Trees for Life not only helps nature to restore the Scottish Highlands - it also helps people reconnect with their spirit, with hope and with the land. Alan's talk also includes a wide range of his photography illustrating both the damage to the land and the difference our work makes. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
