The slavs are not from there, you can see by north-east european admixture from where slavs spread in Europe.
Their proto-homeland is where Poland and Baltic states are and a part of Ukraine and a part of Russia:

Look at what is called there as "eastern european admixture" which in fact is north-eastern european admixture.
There are the proto-slavs from which baltic population appeared and slavs appeared. As you can see, they are from nordish european sub-race,I think they are more cold resistant that scandinavians (north-western european admixture on that map).

A great map of Europe in 1350.
I liked it, but please feel free to find mistakes. For example, I see that Perpignan is seen as French, when it belonged to Aragon, yet Andorra as a part of Aragon when it was independent since 1278.
Note: Big size.

Maximum expansion of the Kingdom of Sardinia in 1860, though the capital was located in Turin (Piedmont), Sardinia gave the name to all italian peninsula, except for the North East and the Papal States. lol

For Count Arnau and Graham.
This map is more precise and accurate.
The official name to Kingdom of Sicily is Kingdom of Trinacria.
In red syracusan (Συράκουσαι) colonies in Adriatic sea, by king Dionisio I, in this map missing Split (Asphalatos).
