In my opinion it depends on a point of view. Europeans are able to distinguish between various European nationalities, but for example they can just hardly identify a South Korean among the Chinese people, or a Gypsy among the people of India. Stereotypically, they all look the same to us. In Turkey I was guessed to be a German and Russian, thus Europeans might look all the same to the average non-whites, too.

Anyhow, some ethnic groups haven't changed indeed, just like mentioned Gypsies in Europe and Inds in India.

I think a lot do, but unfortunately the left try to use this as a way of putting forth the false idea that the same populations don't exist as separate peoples both on the cultural and genetic level. In other words, it is used as an anti-preservationist gambit, in fact by some of the left-leaning posters on this very forum.
