Default Genetic origins of the Berid type.

I have noticed that the Berid type tends to be centered around regions in Europe where a slight North African genetic component is present; Iberia, Sicily, far southern Italy, Malta.

The Basque Country, Greece, France, and the Balkans, where no North African component exists in the genes, have almost no Berid types in true form.

Might there be a connection? Could the Berid type represent Neolithic or pre-Neolithic influence from North Africa? Following the places where it is found, and the presence of NW African genes there in small amount, I suspect Berids are the phenotypical remainder of an old North African population.

Evidently pure specimen are not metrically Mediterranean at all.
Very likely a pre-indoEuropean population. The measurements of CM Iberian individuals suggests a southern ramification of the ancient Les Eyzies cro-magnom type.

In this regard both Northern- and Southern Europe do show strong parallels in it's sub-racial makeup.
